Painted during an art sabbatical in Cody, I drove to Artists Point in Yellowstone National Park to find a parking lot full of busses and cars. After a quick reconnoiter, I retrieved my gear and set up in one of the bump-outs built for that purpose. I felt my nerves rising as I did the drawing which was a surprise. I have painted in crowds before, but it has been a while. That all went away as soon as my brush hit the paper and I spent the next hour and a half painting and visiting with some of the hundreds of on lookers, a number of whom were artists themselves. Then the weather turned. By the time I stowed the work, packed my gear and beat a hasty retreat to my truck, I was a soaked.

A great day!
